This release included impactful changes to both the user interface and most of our reports regarding the new ability to inactivate Campuses, Schools, etc. These changes required us to add new filters to affected reports.
MealTime Release 49 (November 14, 2024) Notes
Program | Result | Description |
Point of Sale | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Vending Machines that are no longer in use. Doing so will change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for Vending Machine data. US-3409 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Campuses that are no longer in use. Inactivation will also change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for Campuses, though care has been taken to ensure that historical data for now-inactive campuses is still available. Please note that campuses may not be inactivated if active schools and/or service areas are assigned. US-3402 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Schools that are no longer in use. Doing so will change the behavior in much of MealTime, limiting service at the Point of Sale and the importing of assigned customers. Inactivation will also change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for Schools, though care has been taken to ensure that historical data for now-inactive Schools is still available. Please note that Schools may not be inactivated if active students are assigned. US-3401 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Service Areas that are no longer in use. Inactivation will change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for Service Areas, though care has been taken to ensure that historical data for now-inactive Service Areas is still available. US-3398 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Tracks that are no longer in use. Inactivation will change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for Tracks, though care has been taken to ensure that historical data for now-inactive Tracks is still available. US-3349 |
Point of Sale | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate POS Stations that are no longer in use. Inactivation will change the behavior of reports that include specific filters for POS Stations, though care has been taken to ensure that historical data for now-inactive POS Stations is still available. US-3399 |
Point of Sale | Feature Improvement | Administrators may now inactivate Allergens/Diet Restrictions that are no longer in use. The Customer Information page will allow a user to toggle the view of inactive allergens and diet restrictions if desired. US-3400 |
POS Console | Feature Improvement | In the summer of 2020, we added a new pre-order system in expectation of students returning to school after a brief lockdown, with meals being ordered and served in decentralized locations around school campuses. In 2024, the pre-order button has largely fallen out of use, and many users have reported that it is far too easy to press by accident. We haven’t removed the button entirely, but it is now a smaller target and far less visually interesting. US-3419 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | Many visitors to the Manage Users page found the eTrition ‘Admin’ role confusing, so we’ve removed it. The only eTrition roles available now in MealTime are ones that are synchronized with eTrition and can be assigned to users. US-3404 |
Income Surveys | Feature Improvement | The Income Surveys module now recognizes “Smart Apostrophe” characters inserted by iOS devices and converts them to standard apostrophe characters before matching with student data. This should improve record matching for affected students. US-3415 |
Point of Sale | Feature Improvement | Very minor change. The Customer Purchase Controls page has been updated to display the school name above the controls section when selected. US-3420 |
System-wide | Feature Improvement | We’ve more finely tuned our data center resources for the AccuClaim Edit Checks report to ensure it consistently completes without error in the new server environment. US-3423 |
System-wide | Feature Improvement | We changed the text of a Customer Import error seen when importing subsidy information for a district that hasn’t yet set up an eligibility expiration date for the school year. This error will now prompt the user to set that date to solve the error going forward. US-3425 |
Administration | Feature Improvement | The District Settings page now includes a drop-down list to select your organization type when entering contact and address information. This is a required field that must be satisfied the next time you make changes to the page. US-3416 |
POS Console | Feature Improvement | By popular demand the POS Console has been enhanced to show the school name and grade in the customer information area when selected. This should be especially useful in schools and districts where many students have the same or similar names. US-3327 |
POS Console | Feature Improvement | In addition to the customer information area, the school name and grade are also now included in your POS Console search results. We hope this helps better identify students in line for meals. US-3418 |
Eligibility Management | Bug Fix | The Applicant Count report has been adjusted slightly to ensure that school names are displayed alphabetically instead of in order they were added to MealTime. BG-18969 |
Point of Sale | Bug Fix | The Clear Customer Balances page has been fixed to address an issue in which Price Group selections were cleared when viewing the report. BG-18945 |
Point of Sale | Bug Fix | We’ve improved the error message text when attempting to import a customer photo with an unsupported file type. The new message will offer better information about the types we do support in MealTime. |
Eligibility Management | Bug Fix | We’ve addressed an issue in our Agency Certification Import feature that could result in determination notification going to the email address of the household primary contact, but with a letter displaying the street address of the secondary household contact. This has been fixed to avoid potential confusion and concern. |
The next MealTime update is scheduled for January 2025 and will feature changes in support of our updated MealTime Apply Online product.
