MealTime allows users to import data from their student records program through the Customer Import - Design page. The following are the fields that are available for import.


Required Fields

The fields noted as "required" are necessary for a minimal but successful import. However, providing additional data from your student records program will greatly enhance the MealTime experience and allow expanded program functionality.


It is recommended that you include an enrollment status (Active or Inactive) in your student import file.




File Formats

Mealtime accepts imports in the form of ASCII text files in these formats: 


Tab Delimited (preferred file format)-ASCII Text File, Tab Delimited fields. 

Comma Delimited - ASCII Text File, Comma Delimited fields.



How Imported Data is Used

The information supplied in a student records export file is uploaded to a MealTime server through a secure data transfer process. That data is then mapped, field-by-field, through the Customer Import Design utility, which is executed to import student data. 


Most fields are limited to one piece of information, such as first name. For example:

Student Last Name: Abercrombie 

Student First Name: Carolyn 

Household Address: 11223 SE Test Street 

Household City: Anytown 

Household State: OR 

Household Zip Code: 97210



Scheduled Importing

Nightly student data imports are encouraged to keep MealTime as up-to-date and accurate as possible.
