MealTime's POS Console can be configured to display customer account balances in one of three ways: Always, On Demand or Never. This setting can be configured globally for all POS Stations in the POS Station Settings on the District Meal Service Settings page and set individually per POS Station


Customer Account Balances are displayed in two parts; Acct Bal (Account Balance) and Avail ALC (Available A La Carte Balance). Acct Bal refers to the total amount of $ in a customer's Cafe account used for meal purchases. Avail ALC refers to the amount of $ from the customer's Cafe account that can be used for a la carte purchases.


Always

When the display option is set to Always, the account balance is always displayed in the Customer Profile with the total account balance displayed on top and the A LA Carte account balance displayed below:

When the display option is set to On Demand, the account balance is hidden until the Balance button is clicked:

Never

When the display option is set to Never, the balance will not be displayed at all.


Avail ALC (A La Carte) Balance Notes

The Available A La Carte Balance may not match the Account balance, depending on the "Limited" Customer Purchase Control setting:

  • If the A La Carte Daily Purchase Limit is set to 'Limited', the Avail ALC balance will display the Limited Daily $ amount.

  • If the A La Carte Daily Purchase Limit is set to 'No Limit', the Avail ALC balance will display the same $ amount as the Acct Balance.

  • If the A La Carte Daily Purchase Limit is set to 'Not Allowed', the Avail ALC balance will display $0.00.
