Service areas are cafeterias or other locations, such as snack bars, which provide meal service. Service areas are assigned to a single campus, but a single service area may provide meals for one or multiple schools. Service areas are also where you define meals served (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) and service start times.

-> Go To: Administration > SETTINGS > District Details > Service Areas

Manage Service Areas

1. Select a Service Area to edit from the list window and click the Edit button or click the Add button to create a new Service Area.

2. Enter the *Service Area Name.
This is name of the service areas. It's recommended to use a name that is easily recognizable, such as Cafeteria or Snack Bar.

3. Select the *Campus.
Campus refers to the school's physical location and must first be configured on the Campuses page in the Administration module.

4. Select each Meal Category that will be served at the service area.
Note! The Meal Categories selected here determine which meal services can be selected for POS Stations, such as Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. If a Meal Category is not selected here, such as Dinner, it cannot be selected in the POS Console for service.

5. Enter a Start Time for each Meal Category you've selected.

6. Enter a PIN Prefix if needed.
This number is used to set a set-length preamble in a customer's PIN, which allows students to enter shorter a PIN when the first part of the PIN shares the same number sequence. For example, the following students all share the first three digits of their PINs:
Julian Schultz - 2004567
James Smith - 2005387
Jenny Stuart   - 2007835

By entering "200" in the Pin Prefix field, the following occurs:
Customer Julian Schultz keys "4567" on the keypad. -> mPower appends "200" to the beginning of the customer entry and returns "Julian Schultz, #2004567".

7. Click Save to save or Cancel to cancel.
